Andrian Legg Live!

Just Announced!

We just confirmed Adrian Legg to perform live at the Garrett’s Desert Inn on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 It is very exciting to be able to host such a great talent in Santa Fe and exclusively at the Garrett’s Desert Inn.

Special rate of $79.00 plus tax and will waive the parking for a queen, double queen, or a king room if attending the Adrian Legg performance.  Rate is subject to availability and they can give us their name to put on a will call list once they have booked their room.

Time: 8pm

$20.00 at the door, or put your name on a will call list by calling Garrett’s Desert Inn at 505-982-1851.

Described by Audio magazine as a “kind of cross between Robert Fripp and Garrison Keillor,” Legg is a genuine entertainer who excels at not only painting pictures if not frescoes and telling stories with music but also wittily regaling his audiences with tales from his life and travels and his cogent and often oblique yet thought provoking observations on a spectrum of topics. It’s all part of his dedication to making his performances a full-blooded emotional experience. “If you haven’t shared a laugh with someone,” he insists, “you certainly can’t share a tragedy.”

So it’s no wonder that popular BBC radio personality Andy Kershaw says of Legg, “Quite simply, there is no one else like him,” citing his “dazzling technique and equally large dollops of spirit, humor, passion, eclecticism and spontaneity.” For his part, Legg appreciates all the praise, but views his mission as far more basic, and more than anything else an expression of his soul and humanity. “I don’t see what I do as particularly eclectic; I see it as perfectly normal. In terms of the music that has gone before me, I simply reflect my forebears like every other musician.” The results of that approach, however, are simply irresistible and unforgettable.

Help us help them!

The Garrett’s Desert Inn, will be offering you a chance for free hotel stays at our hotel during the month of November and December. If you are one of our lucky participants, you will  be offered a two-night stay at the Garrett’s Desert Inn or at any of the other eleven participating Peak hotels. Simply register for your free nights stay here or at any of Peak Hospitality’s twelve (12) locations in New Mexico, Arizona and Texas. A donation of $5.00 is recommended but not required. This is in conjunction with the American Red Cross who has already assigned more than 5,000 workers to assist in the affected areas hit by Hurricane Sandy.

“We have been moved by the videos and photographs of devastation that the eastern seaboard, it’s cities and communities have endured this past week, and want to do something meaningful” said Theo Barela, President of Peak Hospitality. “Our Managers were talking about ways to help and thought this is a way for us to get many people involved”.

“While there is little most of us can physically do to help, we know that the American Red Cross is already hard at work but in need of financial assistance to keep the effort going.”

All proceeds will benefit the American Red Cross’s Hurricane Sandy cleanup effort. Participants will be entered to win a two night stay at any Peak Hotel. Anyone can enter for the drawings that will be held once per month at the end of November and December. No donation or purchase is necessary, but a $5 donation is requested.

We enjoy hearing from our guests especially when we hear feedback about their stay with us.

Here is a comment a recent guest said about us on her blog.

“We stayed at Garrett’s Desert Inn, and I would recommend it in a heartbeat. The location is unbeatable: just a few minutes walk from the center of town with plenty of free parking. The wifi is free, the service is friendly and the beds are comfortable: definitely the best budget-friendly option in downtown Santa Fe. Bonus: there’s a pool! Perfect place to cool off after a long day in the Southwestern heat.”
